4 years, today

well, my marriage is in the making for four years. it isn't that long, but dude… sometimes i forget that i wasn't married my whole life. or at least knew my husband. the past four years have been crazy (for me, that is). here's a checklist run down

over the past four years we've:
moved twice
had two kids
you've had 3 jobs
i've had 2 jobs (not including a mom)
run together
traveled out of the country together twice
you've been on a mission trip to mexico
started leading a bible study together
gone to two different churches (b/c we've moved)
seen friends get married
seen friends have kids
grown closer together
learned how to communicate our expectations to one another

i think that the last one is the most important growth we've had since we've been married. even since baby #2 has been born. we had some crazy ideas of how our days would look when he was born and neither of us were right. we've learned that we need to communicate what we're thinking so we can meet one another's needs a lot better.

some of the things i've done to help celebrate today are fairly small, but big in my eyes. i bought him a couple travel size things so that when he travels this weekend, airport security won't pull him over. i cut down our hedges today. i'm so surprised how much my arms hurt. i didn't do as great of a job as i know he would have, but phew! they are done and people can walk by our house on the sidewalk and not be scraped by plants/bushes. but it was a lot of work. i believe that my forearms will be in some serious pain tomorrow. make it worth it, though!

above is a photo from my wedding day. i did some serious processing to it and i think that it looks a little funky, but i still like it. it's the first photo in my iPhoto and when i scroll through the latest *roll* i end up looking at this photo a LOT. i don't have any photos of the both of us on our wedding day on my computer.

God has blessed us like crazy, and i can't wait to see what happens next!
