who knew?!

this kid likes to sleep on his belly already- but we don't let him at night yet. scary! gotta regulate. (he's gained 2 lbs already in 3 weeks- delicious cheeks!)

and this kid is driving us crazy with picky eating antics. hopefully the Lord will bless us with patience and understanding with him.

love 'em both! we feel so lucky!

birth-day

today is baby #2's expected birth-day. we've made it basically two weeks and still surviving. what a blessing.

#1 is really wanting to walk. we went outside for a brief bout of fresh air after lunch. it felt good. he was so independent he didn't want to hold my hand (after we arrived to the sidewalk, that is- the grassy ground is a bit of a challenge still). so precious. love that guy.

hopefully we'll be going for a loooong walk this afternoon- it will only happen happily if #1 takes a nap today. pleeeeease.

is it spring yet?

this little man is ready to wear his new outfit outside!

too bad it has been sort of sleeting all day. when will the weather perk up? ahh- well whenever it does, i'm taking a long walk with my two little guys and we are going to soak up the fresh air and sun. we really need it. i keep burning candles to make it so i feel like things smell good and feel fresh, but lets face it- opening the windows with the sun streaming in is way better. God's natural nature is the way to go- not some white barn candle (which i love, seriously!).

i'm off to kill the headache i have from today with a… cream soda! mmmmm... maybe some other treat as well- but cream soda is top priority. first things first.

visitors!

i asked my friend b a little while ago to make a hat for my little dude. she made one for her little man, j and i loved it so much i begged her to make one for mine. today- she gave it to my little man and he looks so cute! here is a photo of the two of them (j and o) looking like twins (our stellar husbands are the ones who are in the background). b and i have had fun watching our little boys grow up (can i say that when they are only just over a year?) and fretting over low weight gain and hitting those milestones. i'm thankful to have a friend like b in my life. she's a treasure! she knows me well enough that when she came into our house yesterday and i had some tear residue in my eyes, on my cheeks, and maybe even my shirt that she said "hey, is everything okay?" and i totally felt fine telling her the honest truth that it is hard to chill out and let my husband serve me. i had just overdone it walking around, cleaning up a bit and getting myself some lunch. the c-section wound is still sort of fresh- so i gotta chill, need to remember that. anyway- it is a good sign when you have a friend who is willing to mention that she notices that you're not on top of your game and she wants to know what's up (i'm assuming she would've done anything to help me out!).

thankful for you, b!

forgotten

it's my husband's birthday today and i JUST realized it. oh man. how bad is it that i'm writing about it and not making a card.

i'm on it right now, babe! i love you! akkkkkkkkk!

he's here!

well, the wait is over. the latest addition to the woodby family has arrived. cooper bennet has been such a joyful presence, and i can't wait to see how big brother and him embrace one another. i already see several differences in their personalities that i think will compliment one another well. finally #1 has a playmate in sight!

healing well. slowly, but well. Praise God!

60%

it's the first time a kid of mine has been ahead of the curve! baby #2's ultrasound shows that it is 60% in size. i know it's not entirely accurate, but i am excited that the baby is getting rave reviews before even entering the world. go #2! hopefully it will be able to keep up the trend. i think that i like the idea of 60%. #1 has been in roughly 5-10% size-wise all its life. the funny thing is, we love it. it's so cute. the sad (?) thing is, his head is roughly 75%. should i be worried? nah, i have a couple intelligent friends who have huge heads. i'm hoping #1 is gonna be the same. what do you think. big head? normal head? (i just love him!)

i think that blueberries are cute on him :)

big belly

that's what i'm feeling right now! i feel like i have the biggest belly ever. i guess that is what will happen when you make yourself a hearty dinner. :) and follow it up with a couple cookies. you'd think that i would try not to eat a lot prior to a doctor appointment, but i figure- dude, i'm pregnant- near the end of this- so i'm gonna do what i want. the worst about this is that i'm not really supposed to do much in the way of burning calories because i have to keep the blood pressure rate down. soooo... it will definitely be chillin' around till i'm able to get up and walking on a regular basis. i'm sure baby #1 will be glad, too. he is probably getting a bit bored with me layin' on the couch and reading books to him and watching him have all the fun. oh well! in a year there will be two kids who can play together! (please, Lord, let them be good friends!)

have a great night!

oatmeal

oatmeal - Originally uploaded by simply photo

my friend heidi wrote a while back about bathing her kid with oatmeal. i was interested when i read it, but never really did anything about it b/c i'm lazy- yo. i finally got off my bum and took a guess as to how this works. the reason why i never specifically asked her was because babe #1 started to look *real* bad on his skin, and nothing was helping calm down the rash. the docs confirmed it wasn't a big deal (medically speaking, that is), so i decided since it had been here for a week, lets try this natural thing called oatmeal in a bath.

now we start the day off with eating oatmeal, and end the days with bathing with ground up oatmeal. i miss the baby scent that the lotions have and all that jazz, but i'm *loving* how deliciously soft his skin is. we've only done the oatmeal bath twice, but his face and skin looks sooo much better. i've been pleased. so thanks heidi for sharing with us readers! (she's real smart)

*so cute!*

so tired

in case you're wondering if i've had the #2 kid over the weekend, i didn't. i'm just sooo tired these days that i'm either napping when the #1 kid is napping (or should be) or entertaining him.

though- i did design the baby announcements a bit ago, and i'm super excited about them. when i do them in real life- i'll post them. it could be about 2 months till you see them, though- so don't hold your breath- kay?

i just realized that i made it to march and i don't have another header planned. i'm gonna have to work on that!

… but first, a nap is calling.
