the vests

my sweet boys on a walk together for the first time... ALL walking, that is!
we are sporting vests like it's nobody's business here. so thankful for the snow to be gone, even if the weather says snow is coming thursday. we have been walking a lot more, which is great since i need to move my body. what stinks is now it aches in even more places. this pregnancy is taking a toll on my left side of my body even more. i think that i look forward to being able to really strengthen it well with a clear conscious of "no more kids growing in this belly" so i will really take care of myself. lets be honest, my core is rarely thought of and the trunk region of my bod is a squishy area. didn't want to firm it up when i was hoping/figured we would be expecting another bundle sooner than what would be practical to firm it up. i also like to eat a bit unhealthy. and i'm not thinking i'll ever have the belly i had in 2004. or even 2005. but! we will see. i really do want to run a 1/2 marathon sometime. all in God's hands, really.

cheers to spring arriving (well.. . maybe not fully till next week)

being super

this morning, i was chatting with my kiddo about some random stuff ('cause that's how we roll) and a favorite show of his is "super why". any way, he was telling me about how something had been done perfectly and it was great. i agreed (because he did do something - which i now forget, goodness - great) and said, "i'm so glad that you're so super"
to which he replied with a heavy sigh, "yes, i am super." as if being super is hard work.

side note: he did inform me that his super power is reading and we all know that is a daunting task.

reading go dog, go to his brother. love.it!

stuff kids say

i try to write the stuff down that my kids say to remember later, but i usually forget... here is the smallest amount of what has transpired over the week.

kid #1:
"boys are never grown ups, mom. you're the only grown up" - hubs and i really laughed about that... ha. the best thing i've heard in a while... this morning at breakfast.. classic "stereotyping"
"God and Jesus will keep you safe when you're afraid while sleeping" (i honestly have no idea why my kids are so afraid of sleeping, but they talk about ghosts and monsters often. usually followed up with giggles, so i'm not too worried, but they know that they are thing to be afraid of)
"lets get in the space ship to go to the book club" (oooh super why...)
"where's my super computer phone?!" - for liking this phone so much, this kid loses it hourly. crazy punk. it currently resides in the book club (which everyone else would think it is a blanket fort)

kid #2:
"i love you, mommy. and daddy loves you. and kid #3 loves you, and kid #1 loves you" (sweet deal i've got going on, hunh?!)
-
2: "i have a really big idea. it's good"
m: "what is it?"
2: "i don't know, but it is a good, big idea"
-
"i'm cooking you some food! it will be done in a minute!" this is in kid #1's closet (we made the boys a kitchen with an unwanted piece of furniture) and i'll sit out by the bed while kid #2 repeats this sentiment over and over again. i think i've seen food once in the three separate trips to the picnic i've gone to. :) although, i shouldn't complain because i did get a drink, from a container that he pulled from his jammie pants to pour into a cup for me to quench my thirst. (we had a brief discussion about how food/hands/etc do not reside in the pants for any amount of time. goof)
"i did it with myself!"

kid #3:
he's not really *saying* anything, sadly, but i'm not super worried. actually, i think only the pediatrician is worried at this point. the kid responds to everything i say, has temper tantrums at the appropriate times (aka when all other kids seem to), *communicates* with the older sibs, mimics them acurately, and is SO adorable with how he does "talk" with hmmm, mmm type sounds. he says mama, dada (rarely) and uh oh. that's about it. short, and sweet.

happy birthday kid #2

well, we've hit a milestone and kid #2 is now three. i seriously can't believe it. in my head i keep thinking, "my baby is three!" and then i look at my baby (kid #3) and have the reality sink in that one is being knit in my body. so crazy how fast time goes! here are some pics from the time from monday:

first birthday present (so he would have something to play with all day.. yeeha!) he loved the legos, which kid #1 is calling leegos.. with a long E sound. learning to read english is tough.
blueberry scones for breakfast, yummo!

chocolate mousse for dessert (which we didn't eat because we were SO FULL from eating out at champps! - which comes with a dessert for the kids)

Movie Review Monday

When we began potty training kid #2, I watched many a movie on my iPhone in the hallway so I could be prepared for whatever the kid threw my way. During this time, I saw some great films, and some super stinky ones. Netflix has a lot of oldies, and they aren't necessarily- goodies. Many are good, but I'm surprised at how many are a waste of my time.

This one was a surprise to me. I'd never heard of the film, and only one person's name stood out to me (to me- the dude from "Garden State"). So I'm watching this film, totally able to guess what is going to happen, but hoping for the best. The characters are excellently displayed for you to be fully vested in them in the way that impacts you. I actually am still thinking about this film several weeks later. It's not a "light" film like I'm used to watching, with comedy and laughter, but with heart and stuff to chew on for a bit.

If you're up for something to watch, this one might be good.

precious moment

just had a precious moment with kid #2. he knows how to talk so sweetly. i heard him crying a little bit and went upstairs to see what was up since i was sort of certain he had fallen asleep already. apparently, he had fallen out of bed and needed some loving. he told me he loved me and asked for some kissies on his hand. what a sweetie. love me that lil' guy. then he asked me to rub his head, which is unusual because kid #1 loves that, but not so much this guy. it was nice to be able to meet his needs. so thankful the Lord lets us start out with the small problems before hitting up any big ones.
