fitness

in honor of martin luther king day- i went to work out at the gym at 9:30am instead of pm. it was nice to have the day off work. little did i know that the class called "50/50" means kick your butt. i went into the class thinking it would be a cardio kickboxing class that i could handle. when i saw a pregnant lady, i figured that it may be a little bit easy since i have been running 5 miles at least once a week (2 or more miles other days).

i must have gotten confused.

i think that most women think that they are not strong or whatever, but i think that i'm in decent shape. the ladies in this class were a-freaking-amazing. they were totally doing all the moves (knowing what to do when i was still standing there the 3rd time the lady was 1/2 explaining it) at 100%. i was gasping for air and dashing to my waterbottle for refreshment. apparently i wasn't the only one that was looking like i was going to pass out b/c the instructor decided to bring it down a notch. i grabed 12lbs for some weight lifting thinking *i'll grab something a little bit less weight so i can catch my breath* halfway through the lifting i had to return the weight and get one that was 8 lbs and it was still kind of heavy. the pregnant lady went back to return hers and i thought- i must have made it seem okay to swap out for a less weight when i realized that she was getting MORE weight. eugh. i think that i was trying to make it in a super-mom world or training for super-mom's :)

needless to say- from the back of my knees to my sholders are in serious pain today- and i think that it may be here to stay.
