tradition in the making…

this is our second year cutting down a tree for Christmas. this year, we were more prepared and dressed our kids appropriately for the cold weather. last year, #1 was crying b/c he was so cold. we felt pretty bad. both kids made it through the event without crying (well, at least not because they were cold), and it was snowing. snow really makes it feel like the holiday is SO close. i'm debating if the header graphic or the family photo should be our Christmas card picture. not sure. #2 looks a little bit… uninvolved. soooo we'll have to deliberate (any thoughts?).

anyway- the tree looks great should have taken some pictures of the finished tree, but the process of the tree cutting will have to do.

we have found the tree we're going to take home with us

the boys carry our tree to the place to shake, bale, and pay for it

here i am celebrating the fact that we are still pretty happy

we added another part to tradition and it is going to this sweet pizza place on the way back (it is about a 40 minute drive from our house). it makes it so much more worth the trip and is really good! we used the gps to find a place to eat, and the first place was burnt down. i feel so bad, but i'm kind of glad that 1. it was 2. that i tput my foot down and took a peek into the restaurant to see if it would be good for us to eat, because it looked quite like a bar. it wasn't, and it was definitely worth the stop! we meant to take a picture, but suddenly got shy which is silly since the waitress was seriously one of the better ones i've had in my life and probably would have taken the photograph had she seen my camera on the table. oh well, next time!
