a recap. :)

pictured above: some days we get a little over creative in our hanging out. kid #2 was being silly (and i think that he's even holding a swiffer duster here?) and kid #1 soon joined him in order to have two people sleeping under the rug. those sillies... two bugs snug.
kid #3 has really taken to hanging out by himself, which is both good and bad. i really like being able to keep an eye on all the kids because if i don't see it- how do i discipline fairly and effectively? the worry is more up in my head at this point because the boys tend to tell on each other and often on themselves, so it's not too difficult. some day- they will be smart. although, i have read soooo many books to kid #3 lately, i feel like we will have no excuse for why he is still barely talking. i mostly think that it's because he's laid back. he's responding to commands, hears the garage door and planes way before i see the result (dad coming in and the plane in the sky) so i'm not too worried about his hearing, but we have a doctor appointment later today to assess whether he's on track. which, for the record, kid #1 took forever to start talking and think this guy might be on that same path. we'll see. i would love to know what he's thinking as we have had several laughs lately with what the kids have said- see below:

kid #1:
(to kid #2) - i hurt my foot. please kiss it.
#2 replies - uh. no. i'm busy (when he's sitting right next to him doing -nothing-)
- that is a very good thing. {or} that is a very bad thing
- that is perfect
- kid #2 is ice cream, kid #3 is prickly, you're mommy, and dad is daddy, and i'm #1 (he is trying to be mean with the nick-names, but they are just simply weird. usually kid #2 looks around the room and tell me that i'm pumpkin pie, or something like that. apparently kid #1 is finding it funny now)
- the power to read is my super power. i can give you answers.
- this is my favorite. (he used this line as the husband was getting the connect four game out of the box. they hadn't even played it yet. but! fyi- it's his favorite)
- naparoni and cheese is my favorite.

kid #2:
(to me) - mom, you look like peanut butter and jelly. i'm going to eat you (apparently my brown hoodie over my purple shirt gave him that idea. and he really leaned over and started pretend eating. goof)
- my two legs are fixed and my arm is fixed, but my other arm is broken (after kid #1 bumped into him. this whole broken leg business is out of control. usually the kids legs are broken if they are asked to do something or go to time out)
- kid #1 asked him how many circles were on a circular ad and he counted perfectly until 12. then it went "12, 15, 18, 19, 14, 12, 18." to which kid #1 replied, no- here's how you count "1, 2, ... 25" (counted accurately through the whole thing). i love how i don't have to be the only teacher anymore, but i would like to be the only mom ... ahem... kid #1. you reading this?
- i gave him a vitamin and he came over and gave me a lil' kiss on my {ever growing} belly and said "i love you mom, thank you for the vitamin." (makes up for the fact that last night he went to our bathroom to go, but after too much time + silence i went to check on him and he had my mascara out and open. and the bathroom had an overpowering smell of perfume. awesome. no biggie, but "punk!")
- a lot of his talk is very aggressive and sounds extremely painful- like throwing stuff, hurting people, and whatnot- but he is a huge sweetheart and i still would say his love language is physical touch. we'll see where that goes...
- i can't tell if he really likes sweets or not. he eats some desserts, but not a lot of them. i made cookies with a friend yesterday and all he did was talk about them until he got one. he took forever eating it and then didn't even want one today. the other two kids love 'em (and i'm pleased with them as well- they are unique). even cupcakes/cake- he will rush to eat the frosting, but mostly the cake stays on the plate. just things i notice
- i love vebtables. (and fratatoes are the best, apparently. tomato = fratatoes ... took me a while to figure that one out)
- i hurt my tongue, please kiss it. (what?!)

during the storm that we had on monday morning, the kids both grabbed toy phones and talked on them about the lightning, and thunder that they were experiencing while walking around #2's bedroom and looking out the window. it was a doozy, and they had plenty to tell on the phone.

that's some fun(ish) stuff going on in our lives right now. thanks for check'n in. (i need to upload pics from the camera to you know, write better blogs, so bare with me!)
